Antibiotic treatment seems to be very important in several liver diseases. The knowledge about pharmacokinetics of antibiotics as well as their interactions help us to choose the best option of treatment. Some antibiotics may induced liver diseases and the main mechanism of their action have been described. Authors present the actual knowledge about the treatment and prevention of such diseases as: spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, cholangitis after portoenterostomy, liver abscesus and the use of antibiotics after liver transplantation.
