Abstract provided by Publisher
Biliary atresia is the progressive hepatobiliary disorder leading to cirrhosis in the majority of patients. We know almost everything about the consequences but very little about pathogenesis of this enigmatic disease. Recently huge efforts were undertaken so as to push forward our knowledge about the pathways of development and progression of disorder. Inflammatory mechanisms and genetic profile are top candidates for future research, providing new insight into our understanding the character of biliary atresia.
