Abstract provided by Publisher
Authors present the most important metabolic disturbances in patients after liver transplantation. Hypertension, hyperlipidemia and hypertriglyceridaemia are risk factors for the development of vascular disease and are a predictor of graft loss and chronic rejection. Obesity and hypertension are generally associated with multiple acquired factors predisposing to insulin resistance including lifestyle, high-fat diet and medications.
