Abstract provided by Publisher
The pathologies of liver diseases are associated with many disorders, including those of the eye. Ocular changes following hepatic diseases such as hepatitis C, autoimmune hepatitis, Alagille syndrome, cystic fibrosis, Wilson’s disease, and other metabolic disorders as well as tumors and cirrhosis are described. The most common ophthalmic pathologies of liver disease involve xerophthalmia, keratoconjunctivitis, Sjögren’s syndrome, corneal dystrophies, cataract, uveitis, retinopathy, and optic nerve atrophy.
